Elle is a member of Hyland Lake Partners' comprehensive financial planning team. She works directly with James and Matt, supporting the firm's financial planning process by preparing for client meetings, organizing financial information, and coordinating the many details involved in developing and maintaining clients' financial plans.
Elle's interest in personal finance began at an early age. Growing up with a dad who works in investment management, conversations about investing and financial decision-making were a regular part of life. Principles such as “time in the market beats timing the market” sparked an early curiosity about investing that eventually developed into a passion for finance. After beginning her career in equity research, Elle was drawn to financial planning because it let her combine her analytical background with something equally important to her: building meaningful relationships and helping people.
Prior to joining Hyland Lake Partners, Elle worked as an Equity Research Associate at Lake Street Capital Markets, where she conducted company and industry research, built financial models, and supported research across the consumer, healthcare, and technology sectors.

Outside the office, Elle brings the same drive to her personal pursuits. She was a four-time letter winner as a Division I swimmer at the University of Minnesota and was voted the team's Hardest Worker during her freshman season. She also served as an executive member of the Gopher Student Athlete Advisory Committee. Although she has retired from competitive swimming—for now—she hasn't retired from endurance sports. Elle has turned her attention to marathon running and is now training for her third marathon.
A lifelong Minnesota Gophers sports fan, she also enjoys golfing and being active in her church. Elle grew up in Minneapolis close to the beautiful chain of lakes and still calls our city home.
